Hi. I'm Mike.
I like beautiful code, thoughtful interactions, inspired designs and the people who make them.
I'm always searching for new challenges in design, engineering and team leadership. Recently I’ve built marketing sites for huge brands while working in the advertising industry, designed and implemented design systems for consumer brands, architected a JS SPA for patients to view blood test results, created a tool for Android users to pick the perfect phone and written code used by billions of people on Google.com.

Reducing perceived complexity is the main objective of any design. Thoughtful reduction exposes a design's true purpose.

Creativity
is patience
The best ideas don't normally show up uninvited. Sometimes the Muse needs romancing. Staying with a problem long enough creates space for unexpected solutions.
Craft
is timeless
Tools, trends, and technologies come and go. Good design exists outside the zeitgeist.
Language
is interface
Composing interfaces requires carefully chosen words. Copywriting must be given the same level of care as visual design and UX.
